Institutional investors in international commercial real estate have one key objective: to perform transactions with satisfactory risk-return ratios. They look globally to achieve their goals and in many cases set their sights on emerging regions, attracted by high growth expectations and diversification prospects. In fact, a substantial number of investors have exposure to foreign markets either through direct property investments or through fund manager intermediaries. Especially for investors in countries that have only a limited real estate market in terms of size, international investing becomes a necessity.
