Nordic retail attracts investors

by Loretta Clodfelter

Investors continue to be active across the Nordic region, with several recent transactions occurring in the retail sector.

A 50-50 joint venture between ATP Real Estate and PensionDanmark recently acquired a retail property in Copenhagen from Solstra Investments A/S. The historic buildings on Kongens Nytorv are occupied by department store Magasin, a unit of Debenhams.

“We are familiar with the tenant Magasin/Debenhams from our previous investments and are looking forward to continuing the positive cooperation,” comments Michael Nielsen, CEO of ATP Real Estate. The two investors own other Magasin properties throughout Denmark, in Aarhus, Lyngby and Odense.
