Fundraising round-up: open season

European fundraising activity has remained strong through October 2013, seeing a handful of closed-end funds launch or announce their initial close. It must be “open season” for European funds again.

Hermes Real Estate Investment Management Ltd launched Hermes Real Estate Senior Debt Fund, the firm’s first senior debt fund. HREIM will use the capital raised to target investments in commercial real estate loans in the United Kingdom, specifically high-quality assets in London and the South-East with a high rate of tenant retention historically.

Munich-based Real IS has also launched a new fund in its BGV series. BGV VI will invest in office and retail real estate, but may also invest in logistics assets and budget hotels to supplement the portfolio. The firm expects to invest as much as 70 percent of the €650 million planned investm
