LGP Secures Consent for UK Development

Legal & General Property (LGP), on behalf of its Property Unit Trust (PUT), has secured planning consent for the development of two new restaurant units at a UK leisure park. The project is evidence of efforts by property owners to upgrade retail sites.

“Since acquiring Towerfields in 2010, we have worked hard on the asset management side to look at ways of investing in the scheme to further improve its tenant mix and refresh its customer offer, in order to ensure that it remains a popular local leisure destination,” says Tim Russell, senior asset manager at LGP.

The two restaurant units, comprising 300 square metres each, will be developed at Towerfields Leisure Park, Huntingdon, which was acquired by PUT in May 2010.
