Innovation and capital flows: Notes from the ULI Asia Pacific Summit

In May, I attended the Urban Land Institute’s Third Annual ULI Asia Pacific Summit 2014 held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong. The event was well attended with around 500 registered attendees from Hong Kong and around the world.

The ULI meetings are different from other conferences because, in addition to presentations and discussion, the organisers arrange property tours and mobile workshops. This year, attendees had an opportunity to visit several projects and developments such as East Kowloon and the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, Hysan Place, and properties in the Chinese cities of Foshan and Guangzhou.

The event organisers prepared an engaging programme focused on the impact that technology, innovation, demographics and urbanisation have been bringing to the real estate industry.
