ULI makes hurricane-force recommendations

One year ago, Superstorm Sandy bludgeoned the Northeast and reminded all in its path that even the most fortified edifices and infrastructure facilities are no match for Mother Nature scorned.

A wan New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was so shaken by Sandy’s wrath that he ran afoul of his political party leaders by showing too much gratitude for President Obama’s ministrations in the storm’s wake.

Still, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) thinks humankind at least needs to find ways to tame the damage nature’s fury can inflict.
