Despite “unprecedented growth” in Australia’s infrastructure construction market during the past 10 years — growth driven by a boom in natural resources and mining as well as economic stimulus spending and reconstruction following floods in 2010 and 2011 — the country still suffers from deficient infrastructure in many areas. According to Analyzing Australia’s Infrastructure Trends 2013, a report published by Engineers Australia, Australia’s infrastructure rated a C+ in 2010, which was unchanged from its rating in 2005. Engineers Australia’s latest update in 2013 notes progress but still much room for improvement.
