The $1 billion El Paso Firemen & Policemen’s Pension Fund has committed $2.5 million to Global Infrastructure Partners II (GIP II), according to minutes from the Jan. 18 regular meeting of the board. Meketa Investment Group, the pension fund’s alternative investment manager, recommended the commitment.
GIP II reached a first close in December with $3 billion in commitments and is targeting $6 billion for final close. The Northumberland County Council Pension Fund and the Shropshire County Pension Fund, both based in the United Kingdom, also have allocated capital to GIP II.
