Texas Teachers commits $250m to infrastructure

The $134 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas has committed $250 million to Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund II, according to Juliana Fernandez Helton, communications specialist for the pension fund.

The value-added fund, managed by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, focuses on midmarket power, midstream, transportation and communications investments in the United States. The fund recently received commitments from the Employees Retirement System of Texas, the Employees’ Retirement System of Rhode Island, the Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, the Maine Public Employees Retirement System and the New Mexico Educational Retirement Board.

Texas TRS committed $219 million to Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund I in 2013. Fund I closed in October 2013 with $1.65 billion in equity commitments.
