Susan Hudson-Wilson passes away

by Andrea Waitrovich

Susan Hudson-Wilson, a pioneer in the commercial real estate industry, passed away on Oct. 5 at the age of 60. She died of a cerebral aneurysm while on an African safari with her husband John.

“She is one of the few people in our industry that was her own brand,” says Trish Healy, managing principal at Hyde Street Holdings.

Hudson-Wilson was a well-respected researcher and economist and the founder and CEO of Property & Portfolio Research (PPR), a real estate research and strategy development firm. She was awarded the Pension Real Estate Association’s prestigious Graaskamp Award for Research Excellence in 1995, and was the founder and past president of the Real Estate Research Institute.

Prior to founding PPR, Hudson-Wilson was director of portfolio strategies and a member of the board of directors of Aldrich, Eastman & Waltch, and she held senior research positions at John Hancock Properties and UNUM Life Insurance Co.
