Recent commercial real estate transactions

Below is a sampling of recent property transactions. The largest transactions are two apartment buildings on the East Coast.

In New York City, The Blackstone Group closed on its $620 million acquisition of Kips Bay Court. The seller, affordable housing developer Phipps Houses, developed the eight-building complex in 1975. The firm had signed a contract to buy the site in August.This is the second consecutive year that Blackstone has made the largest multifamily acquisition in New York City. In 2015, the firm closed on its $5.3 billion purchase of Stuyvesant Town-Peter Cooper Village.
