Prospects improve in Asia Pacific despite Trump election

The economic environment in Asia is improving, even though the outcome of the U.S. presidential election raises challenges for the region, according to Colliers Radar: Asia Pacific – The dragons rise anew. Donald Trump's U.S. election victory raises challenges for Asia, including a possible hit to confidence and growth as well as tariffs on imports. If U.S. growth ultimately suffers under Trump, U.S. interest rates may only rise very gradually and the dollar may fall, hurting Asian exporting nations.

The brighter outlook in Asia Pacific should boost the office property sector, as robust investment demand suggests, although residential property faces risks.

China is one of two emerging Asian economies showing strong growth. The other is India.
