Louisiana Teachers commit $175m to real assets

The $15.9 billion Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana has approved three commitments to real assets: a $35 million commitment to Campus Clarion Student Housing Fund, a $40 million commitment to AEW Senior Housing Investors II and a $100 million investment in Energy Capital Partners III. Maurice Coleman, director of private markets at TRSL, has confirmed the commitment.

Campus Clarion Student Housing Fund, managed by Clarion Partners and Campus Apartments, is a $500 million value-add fund that launched in January 2013. The fund, which is Clarion’s first in this niche subsector, will invest in student housing across the United States.
