KKR raises $598m for European real estate fund

by Zoë Wolff

KKR has raised $598 million for Real Estate Partners Europe, according to a first quarter earnings report.

The fund launched in September and follows a similar strategy to KKR’s Real Estate Partners Americas, which targeted property-level equity, debt, special situations transactions and businesses with significant real estates holdings. The Americas fund closed in late 2013 after raising $1.5 billion.

The Maine Public Employees’ Retirement System invested $50 million in the European real estate fund in September. According to the earnings report, the fund will hold a final close soon.
