J.P. Morgan property fund manager retires

by Andrea Waitrovich

Anne Pfeiffer, senior portfolio manager for JPMCB Strategic Property Fund, an open-end core managed by J.P. Morgan Asset Management Global Real Assets, plans to retire this October. An announcement was made in July.

Pfeiffer has been an employee with J.P. Morgan since 1979. She joined the firm as a senior finance officer. She was then promoted to head of the finance group, senior asset manager, acquisitions officer and, eventually, senior portfolio manager of one the largest U.S. core real estate funds, where she served for the past 15 years.

As portfolio manager, Pfeiffer helped create J.P. Morgan Asset Management Global Real Assets’ culture of cooperation and collegiality, which aimed to strengthen client relationships.

Prior to joining the firm, she was a supervising accountant with Coopers & Lybrand as a certified public accountant.

In addition, she was elected to the board of Real Estate Investment Standards in 2012 and served on the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF) from 2002 to 2008, including as president of NCREIF from 2007 to 2009.

Ann Cole and Kim Adams, managing directors and assistant portfolio managers to JPMCB Fund, will jointly serve as co-portfolio managers of the vehicle after Pfeiffer departs.

J.P. Morgan has $64.6 billion in assets under management as of February 2013.
