by Andrea Waitrovich

AEW Europe and Natixis Asset Management have raised €162 million ($180.69 million) and secured the first two investments for their second real estate debt fund, Senior European Loan Fund II.

The fund has a €750 million ($836.51 million) equity fundraising target. SELF II will invest in senior real estate loans supported by core office, retail, logistics and hotel assets located in the main European markets.

SELF II has completed two investments totaling €45 million ($50.19 million) through the acquisition of loans secured on a portfolio of office assets in the Paris region and an office building in Frankfurt.

The fund’s predecessor, Senior European Loan Fund I, a €323 million ($360.26 million) real estate debt fund, was launched in 2012 and fully invested in July 2015.
