Atlanta beats San Francisco on transaction volume in 2015

During 2015, Atlanta was ranked fifth in Real Capital Analytics’ “Top 40 Markets of 2015,” beating San Francisco, which placed eighth in 2015 — slipping from fifth in 2014. In addition, the city jumped over Boston too, which is ranked sixth.

A growing number of investors are looking for investments outside gateway cities, specifically New York City, as the U.S. economy is stabilizing, drawing in more foreign capital as well.

Atlanta recorded a 23 percent annual growth in sales volume for a total of $16.9 billion. Since 2009, the city has been progressing upward in the volume rankings. In 2014, the city was ranked seventh.

Looking specifically at the office sector, Atlanta’s office market was the eighth most active in 2015, a jump from its 10th place ranking in 2014. The market averaged $1.3 billion in office sales price per quarter.
