Fund raising in the private equity real estate space remained challenging in 2011, but investment managers did see a slight uptick compared with 2010 totals. During 2011, 81 funds announced final closings, raising an aggregate $48.3 billion, up from 70 funds with equity of $46.8 billion in 2010.
