Walton Street debt fund holds $654m final close

Walton Street Capital has held a final close of $654 million in commitments for its Walton Street Real Estate Debt Fund, exceeding its $500 million equity fundraising target, according to a statement.

The fund focuses on “the origination and structuring of floating-rate investments secured by current income-generating assets in major U.S. markets and complements Walton Street’s opportunistic and value-added funds platform,” according to a statement.

The debt fund received commitments from existing and new investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, asset managers, banks, family offices and high-net-worth investors. The Texas Municipal Retirement System was an early investor in the fund, with a $100 million commitment in March 2014.
