U.S. office market sends mixed signals in third quarter 2016

by Jody Barhanovich

The U.S. office market performance was mixed in the third quarter of 2016, according to CBRE’s November 2016 Americas Office Trends report. Summer slowdowns in net absorption and heightened caution ahead of the November presidential election offset healthy office-using job growth in the United States.

U.S. venture capital funding slowed from the robust pace of 2015 but remained strong, with the third quarter 2016 year-to-date total reaching the second-highest level since 2001 and supporting continued tech-tenant demand, according to the report.

Tech companies have been booming in the Unites States and are continuing to look for creative, renovated warehouse space, but also are migrating to class A space with amenities.
