Two more U.K. property funds suspend trading

Two more commercial property investment funds have temporarily suspended trading in the U.K. market following the decision to leave the European Union.

On July 5, Aviva Investors halted trading of its £1.8 billion ($2.3 billion) Aviva Investors Property Trust. The decision was made as a safeguard for the interests of all its investors.

And this morning, Henderson Global Investors temporarily suspended trading in its £3.9 billion ($5.1 billion) U.K.  Property PAIF and PAIF feeder funds, becoming the fourth U.K. fund to put a moratorium on trading.

The company controls £1.39 billion ($1.8 billion) of investments in a U.K. Property Authorised Investment Fund and U.K.  Property Authorised Trust (feeder fund).

The suspensions follow Standard Life Investments and M&G Investments’
