Suzanne West joins AVP Advisors as managing partner

Suzanne West has joined AVP Advisors as a managing partner, effective Aug. 1. Her responsibilities are to provide real estate operators and emerging managers looking to establish direct, long-term relationships with institutional investors with programmatic joint venture capital and mentorship in investment management best practices.

Previously, she was a managing partner and a co-founder of Park Madison Partners, a New York City–based real estate placement and advisory firm focused on the global real estate private equity industry.

West has more than 20 years of industry experience, beginning with seven years in the real estate group of the then $20 billion State of Connecticut Trust Funds, where she was involved in the management of its $1.7 billion real estate equity and commercial mortgage portfolios as an investment officer, ultimately co-heading the group.

She was named one of Real Estate Forum magazine's “Women of Influence” for 2012. Out of approximately 200 candidates, fewer than 50 women were selected for the annual award.

West has a bachelor of science in finance from the University of Connecticut. She is a member of the Pension Real Estate Association and a mentor in the Toigo MBA Fellowship program.
