Singerman Real Estate raises $275m for opportunity fund

by Zoe Loza

Singerman Real Estate, a Chicago-based opportunistic real estate investment firm, has closed Singerman Real Estate Opportunity Fund II with $275 million in equity.

With mainly institutional investors, including foundations, pension funds and endowments, the fund exceeded its equity fundraising target and reached the fund cap in less than five months from its first closing.

“We continue to build a team with diverse and complementary skill sets,” said Seth Singerman president and managing partner of Singerman Real Estate, in a statement. “My partners and I are excited to commit our focus to continue finding and executing attractive risk-adjusted investment opportunities across economic cycles.”

Singerman Real Estate focuses on investments in both debt and equity across all major asset classes. SRE Opportunity Fund I closed in 2013 and raised $118 million.
