by Zoë Wolff

The $19.9 billion San Francisco Employees’ Retirement System has committed $75 million to Lime Rock Resources Fund IV, according to recent meeting documents.

Lime Rock Resources acquires, operates and improves oil and gas producing properties in six states. In May 2015, the firm acquired 300,000 net acres of natural gas property in Arkansas, Oklahoma and East Texas.

Other investors in Fund IV include the Denver Employees Retirement Plan, which committed $30 million in January.

This is SFERS first investment with Lime Rock. The pension fund has a 17 percent target allocation to real assets and a 10.6 percent actual allocation to the asset class.
