The $69.7 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund has committed $400 million to Global Infrastructure Partners III, according to recent meeting documents from the Oregon Investment Council.
The fund, managed by Global Infrastructure Partners, will invest globally in large-scale infrastructure assets. The fund is seeking to raise up to $15 billion. The Washington State Investment Board and the El Paso Firemen & Policemen Pension Fund have committed to the fund recently.
OPERF previously committed $150 million to Global Infrastructure Partners Fund II in 2011. The pension fund has a 3 percent target allocation to alternatives; infrastructure makes up approximately 20 percent to 30 percent of that asset class.
