Investors capitalize on great fundamentals in industrial sector

The U.S. industrial sector has performed well of late, with the industrial sub-index of the NCREIF Property Index outperforming the overall NPI 12.6 percent to 10.8 percent for the 12 months through the second quarter.

What’s more, the sector’s investment fundamentals are continuing to trend up. The national industrial vacancy rate dropped 140 basis points in 2013 — the largest single-year decline in the past 25 years — and record-low supply pipelines have pushed rents up 4 percent in 2013 and even higher in 2014, according to Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management. Investors have been quick to capitalize on the sector.
