Colony American Homes nears final close

Santa Monica, Calif.–based investment firm Colony Capital is expected to close its single-family residential investment fund by the end of the week. Colony American Homes, structured as a privately traded REIT, has raised more than $2 billion in capital from institutional and high-net-worth investors during the fundraising period.

Colony Capital declined to comment on the fundraising.

Colony American Homes launched during third quarter 2012 and raised approximately $270.75 million by September 2012. According to Jan. 22 filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Colony American Homes’ platform feeder vehicles Colony American Homes Holdings III and Colony American Homes Holdings IV recently raised $536.6 million and $364.1 million,
