California pension funds were active investors in U.S. REITs.
The $180 billion California State Teachers’ Retirement System increased its shareholding of Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust by 1.6 percent during fourth quarter 2015.
CalSTRS owned 128,087 shares of the REIT’s stock after buying an additional 2,054 shares during the period. The retirement system’s holdings in Pennsylvania REIT were worth $2.8 million at the end of the most recent quarter.
CalSTRS also increased its shares of Invesco Mortgage Capital by 1.6 percent during the fourth quarter. It owned 228,197 shares of the REIT’s stock after buying an additional 3,609 shares during the period. The retirement system owned about 0.19 percent of Invesco Mortgage Capital worth $2.8 million.
