Brookfield marketing fourth debt fund

Brookfield Asset Management has a fourth real estate debt fund, Brookfield Real Estate Finance IV, in the market, according to a filing with the SEC. A fundraising equity target was not disclosed.

Its predecessor, Brookfield Real Estate Finance III, invests in U.S. debt. It closed in June 2012 with $400 million capital commitments. The fund provides financing for higher quality properties through mezzanine loans and B-notes.

Investors include the New Hampshire Retirement System and South Carolina Retirement System.

Brookfield Asset Management has more than $175 billion in assets under management. Recently, the firm released its financial results for the quarter and 2013.
