Bernie McNamara, managing director with J.P. Morgan Asset Management, recently expanded his role with the firm’s Global Real Assets group as the new head of Global Real Assets Client Strategy and Omni Solutions. In this capacity, he now leads the GRA Client Strategy team responsible for business development and client relationships across a global platform of real estate, infrastructure and maritime/transport strategies. McNamara also will continue to lead the GRA Omni team’s efforts to design, implement and manage real asset portfolio solutions, with collaboration from executive director Pulkit Sharma, a co-founder with McNamara of the Omni program and director of the team’s portfolio construction and analytics.

“I am pleased to announce that Bernie McNamara will now lead both the Global Real Assets Omni team and all aspects of an integrated GRA client strategy. His thought leadership and consultative approach to delivering real asset solutions will be at the center of all our client interactions,” said Joe Azelby, head of Global Real Assets at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, in a statement. “I am excited about Bernie’s expanded role and the positive impact it will have on the GRA business and our clients.”

Earlier in his career, McNamara was co-founder of Upromise Investments, the largest provider of college investing plans in the industry. Prior to Upromise Investments, he helped develop investment business lines at Fidelity Investments and Merrill Lynch. He began his career in financial market research at Greenwich Associates.

J.P. Morgan Asset Management Global Real Assets has more than $90 billion in assets under management and more than 400 professionals in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific, as of March 31.
