Benson Elliot reaches €625m goal

by Andrea Waitrovich

Benson Elliot Capital Management has announced the final close of its pan-European fund, Benson Elliot Real Estate Partners IV, exceeding its €600 million ($659 million) target.

Including over €75 million ($82 million) of co-investment earmarked for BEREP IV (of which approximately €50 million [$55 million] has already been deployed), the total available equity for the fund will exceed €700 million ($769 million).

The capital for BEREP IV was raised from a global group of 30 primarily institutional investors, including public and private pension funds, university endowments, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and family offices.  Approximately 50 percent of the capital raised came from U.S. investors, with 40 percent from European investors, and the balance from the Middle East and Asia.  More than 60 percent of the capital was from investors who had invested in a prior Benson Elliot fund.
