Alaska Permanent Fund commits $500m to infrastructure

The $52.4 billion Alaska Permanent Fund Corp. has committed $500 million to Global Infrastructure Partners III, according to a recent meeting document.

The infrastructure fund, managed by Global Infrastructure Partners, is seeking to raise up to $15 billion to invest in large-scale infrastructure assets globally. The fund recently received commitments from the Maine Public Employees Retirement System, the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System, the Washington State Investment Board and the El Paso Firemen & Policemen’s Pension Fund.

The Alaska Permanent Fund Corp. has a 4 percent target allocation to infrastructure and a 2.7 percent actual allocation to the asset class.
