The company is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: TCL) and has a market capitalization of about $7 billion. Shareholders include the Ontario Teachers Retirement System, the Canadian Pension Plan Investment Boardand CP2. Institutional Investing in Infrastructure senior editor Drew Campbell spoke with Michael Kulper, president of North American operations, about Transurban’s first greenfield project outside of its home market of Australia — the Capital Beltway HOT Lanes in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, a nearly $2 billion public-private partnership between the Virginia Department of Transportation, Transurban and Fluor Corp.

Shop Talk: A Conversation with Todd Carter

Todd Carter is president of Panda Energy, a Dallas-based power developer and operator founded by the Carter family in 1982. The firm has raised nearly $6 billion to develop, construct and operate more than 9,000 megawatts of power generating capacity, including the two largest gas-fired plants in the United States. The company intends to put its entire organization and pipeline of projects into the Panda Power Generation Infrastructure Fund, which will be focused on U.S. greenfield and certain brownfield power generation expansion opportunities.
