+1 925-244-0500, ext. 117 g.dohrmann@irei.comGeoffrey Dohrmann, CRE, is the founder, chairman and CEO, and also serves as a director, of Institutional Real Estate, Inc., a San Ramon, Calif.–based publishing and consulting company focused on meeting the information needs of the institutional real estate, infrastructure and private wealth advisory investment communities. In this capacity, he also serves as editor-in-chief of several award-winning industry publications, including Institutional Real Estate Americas, Institutional Real Estate Europe, Institutional Real Estate Asia Pacific, FundTracker, Institutional Investing in Infrastructure, Real Assets Adviser and Institutional Real Estate Newsline, as well as IREI.Q database and numerous special reports and several email news alert services serving each of the firm’s constituencies. Dohrmann also serves as conference producer of IREI’s industry events, including Visions, Insights & Perspectives (VIP) Americas, VIP Europe, VIP Infrastructure, IREI’s Annual CEO Summit and IREI Springboard. In addition, he is a co-founder of the Company’s Institute for Real Estate Operating Companies, a networking and educational organization serving the interests of institutional investors, investment managers and real estate operating companies seeking to form more profitable real estate joint ventures.
In addition to these responsibilities, Dohrmann serves as a Trustee of the Bailard Real Estate Fund, a Foster City, Calif.-based non-listed, private real estate investment trust serving the needs of individual and institutional investors. In addition, he is a member of the board of directors for the Accordant Core Property Index Fund (NASDAQ: ODCEX), an investment company organized under the Investment Company Act of 1940 designed for accredited investors, whose assets currently are managed by Cleveland, OH-based Investors Diversified Realty (IDR). He also serves on the advisory boards for San Diego, CA-based Redhill Realty Investors LP, a private equity real estate investor and operating company investing exclusively in the multifamily sector, and Amero Global Investors, a minority-owned real estate investment management firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
In the past, he has served as a trustee and investment committee member (from 2000 through 2010) of Lexington Realty Trust (NYSE: LXP), a New York–based real estate investment trust that invests in net-leased single-tenant industrial properties. From 2002 through 2007, he also was a director and chairman of the charter board of managers for the J.P. Morgan Real Estate Income & Growth Fund, an open-end diversified real estate investment fund with real estate holdings valued at $3.89 billion as of 10/30/2023.
Dohrmann continues to consult with many of the leading firms in the real estate investment management industry, and also has lectured on institutional real estate market–related matters at the business schools of the University of California – Berkeley, the University of Chicago, Stanford University, Harvard University, Northwestern University, the University of North Carolina and Yale University.
A graduate of the University of California – Berkeley, Dohrmann is a Fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute and the American Real Estate Society, a member of the Counselors of Real Estate, and a past member of the Board of Directors for the American Real Estate Society as well as the San Francisco Architectural Heritage.
His professional memberships include the American Real Estate Society, the Pension Real Estate Association, the Urban Land Institute, the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association, ANREV, INREV, and the Pacific Pension Institute.
