Managing Director, Europe

Our twenty five-year old, well-established U.S.-headquartered global media company is searching for an experienced, talented Senior Account Executive to serve as our Managing Director for the European region.

The candidate selected will train in our San Ramon, California Headquarters, and then locate back to a major transportation hub city in the UK or Europe.

Compensation is competitive, and includes base salary, commission and incentive compensation components. Employment status will be as an independent contractor, and will be paid in British Sterling or in Euros, depending upon the winning candidate’s current nation of residence.

The ideal candidate will have worked for three or more years in a selling capacity with a proven track record in business development, including lead generation, cold calling, qualifying opportunities, relationship building, developing interest, presenting, and closing new accounts, as well as servicing existing accounts.

The right candidate also will have worked for three or more years in some facet of the institutional real estate investment business, or at the very least in some facet of the real estate, institutional investment, or financial services arenas, and/or in the media or communications business.

The candidate should be goal-driven, have a results orientation, and have highly developed sense of ownership and personal accountability for producing agreed-upon results. He or she also should be persistent; not easily discouraged; and have demonstrated his or her ability to work towards the achievement of long term goals and objectives.

The ideal candidate also will bring an already well-established positive reputation along with a reasonably sized book of existing contacts.

In addition, candidate must be warm, personable, a team player, with excellent verbal and written communications skills, a strong work ethic, and the willingness and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Candidates must be willing and able to travel extensively within Europe and, on a limited basis,globally when necessary. In addition, Candidate should expect to spend a minimum of three consecutive days in the Company’s headquarters offices in California two or three times a year, interfacing with other team members and for ongoing training and development.

Although not required, the most desirable candidate will be an experienced, polished public speaker and also have expertise in moderating panels and facilitating small group discussions. Knowledge, skills and experience in the use of Social Media for relationship-building and marketing would be a plus, as would any prior experience with editing, writing and producing blogs, Video Podcasts and/or Audio Podcasts.
